Adding reading logs
Once you've added a book to your library, you can log the dates you read the book. Go to Book Library, click on a book to edit it, then scroll to the bottom of the page. You'll see a table like this:
You can click on "Add Reading Log" to add a new entry. This will expand a list of fields for you to fill out.
- Start Date: The date you started reading. This will automatically fill to the current date, but you can change it if desired.
- Finish Date: The date you finished reading. Leave blank if you're not finished.
- % Complete: The percentage of the book you've read so far. Optional.
- Rating: Your rating for the book. Optional.
Click the "Add Log" button at the bottom to submit the new entry. It will then be added to the table. You may read a book as many times as you like.
If you have more than one administrator user on your site then you will notice a checkbox at the top that says "Only show my entries". If this is unchecked, then reading logs for all users will be shown to you in the table. If this is checked, then only your reading logs will be displayed. This allows different users to read the same book and not get their entries confused.
Each entry can also be edited by clicking the associated "Edit" button. This will reveal text boxes allowing you to change the log information. This is what you'd do if you want to set the finish date, changing the percentage you've read, and/or set your rating.
Once you've made your desired changes, click the "Save" button.
Reading logs may also be deleted. Note that doing this will affect your reading analytics accordingly.
